I reviewed four domain buckets today:

  • one-word domains
  • hand-reg domains
  • closeout domains
  • expired domains

The main lesson was not:

Find the best looking name and buy it.

The better lesson was:

A good research candidate still needs a buy filter.

That matters because a domain can look interesting in a spreadsheet and still be a bad purchase.

Maybe the renewal is too high.

Maybe the auction price will run away.

Maybe the buyer pool is too narrow.

Maybe the exact brand is already used somewhere.

Maybe the phrase is topical, but not commercial enough.

The research list is only the first gate.

The buy decision is the second gate.

Here are selected names from today's scan.

I am showing them as research candidates, not automatic buys.
